Why KC Studios and Venues Use Us Instead of Carrying Gear Into a Store
There are national trade-in chains that buy audio gear. They work one way: you have to load it in your car, drive to their store, wait in line, and hope the person behind the counter knows what a line-level splitter is. For a garage sale handful of consumer speakers, that is fine. For a studio clearing out a rack, a church retiring a full FOH system, or a venue replacing house monitors, it is a non-starter.
We come to you. Our pickup crew has loaded every kind of pro audio rig — from single console removals to full A1/A2 AV cleanouts — and we bring the right gear to get it out safely. Racks get rolled out whole. Line arrays get flight-cased. Snake heads and cable lots get sorted into bins. You do not touch anything heavy unless you want to.
And because we have been processing electronics in Kansas City since 2005, we know the KC venue and studio scene. We have picked up from recording studios off Broadway, performing arts centers in the Crossroads, churches in Overland Park and Lee's Summit, rehearsal spaces in the West Bottoms, and college AV departments on both sides of the state line. This is not a side hustle for us — it is what we do every week.
Cash for Working Pro Audio Gear
Recent pro audio from major brands has real resale value in the secondary market. We pay fair wholesale rates on working gear and pick it up for free.
1. Send Your List
Email an inventory list with brand, model, quantity, and condition notes. Photos help but are not required. A phone call works too if you prefer.
2. Get a Quote
We send back a no-obligation quote within 1-2 business days based on what we can pay on the current secondary market. Clear, itemized, no games.
3. Free Pickup & Payment
We schedule a pickup at your studio or venue, crew loads everything out, bring it back to our facility for testing, and issue payment by check or ACH once the gear is verified.
What qualifies for buyback?
- • Working condition (powers on, produces expected output)
- • Major brands with active resale demand
- • Reasonably current — typically gear from the last 8 to 10 years for digital, longer for analog and vintage
- • Not physically damaged beyond cosmetic wear
Gear that does not qualify for buyback still gets free recycling with the same pickup. Nothing costs you either way.

Pro Audio Recycling FAQ
Do you really take pro audio gear for free?+
Yes. Drop-off is always free. Pickup is free for studios, venues, and commercial installs with qualifying volumes. Working gear from major brands may also qualify for buyback, in which case we pay you on top of the free pickup.
Do you pay cash on the spot like trade-in stores?+
We do not pay cash on the spot. We pay by check or ACH after the gear arrives at our facility and we verify condition against the quote. In exchange, we come to you with a crew and free pickup — studios and venues do not have to pack a trailer and drive to a store.
What if it is old analog or vintage gear?+
Vintage analog gear is often more valuable than newer digital equipment. Classic reel-to-reels, vintage tube amps, vintage mics, classic consoles, and collectible synths are all evaluated individually. Send us a list and we will flag anything with premium vintage value.
What about rack cases, snakes, and cables?+
All accepted. SKB and Gator racks, flight cases, XLR and TRS lots, speaker cable reels, multicore snakes, CAT5/CAT6 audio runs, patch cables — we take the whole ecosystem. Most studio cleanouts produce three or four gaylords of cable alone, and we handle that at no cost.
How fast can you pick up?+
Standard scheduling is within a few business days. For AV integrators needing a same-day decomm before a new install, call directly and we will usually make it work. Call (816) 295-2334.
